Coming back to story telling topic, surfing the web I've found this interesting video in which an English teacher from a Barcelona's school recomends us some English books according to the age of our pupils.

Stories in the English clasroom

Tell stories are very useful to improve the student`s imagination, to motivate them and create a dynamic and funny way to communicate and interact with them.

We can use a particulary story but written and told in a different way so that the texts are not the same. In this way children aren`t bored and they pay attention.

But we can`t use always stories for language practise because children lose interest, so be careful!

 What kind of strategies do you think that we can use to tell stories and make learning fun?

 

CREATE A STORY TELLING ATMOSPHERE

 

INTERACT WITH THE CHILDREN

 

USE GESTURES AND PROPS SUCH AS HATS, SUNGLASSES...

 

ASK FOR STUDENTS  VOLUNTEER TO HELP YOU TO ACT OUT THE STORY WHILE THE REST O THE STUDENTS WATCH
